 this sprint i focused on texture work.  Unfortunately i did not get everything in the scene textured but what is left is mostly small assets that will be fairly simple to texture.  I tried to bring out the details of my normals with nice spec maps and hi-detail normal map blends.  I was pretty pleased with the outcome of most of my textures.  i will continue to work this piece until it is done!

Senior project sprint 4

This sprint i made a few more assets and began placing objects in UDK.  I made a first pass attempt at lighting which is not working so well.... i think the lighting in my first one was better (smaller pic)

i refined some of my models, added a stump to the anvil and got the shape of the crucible looking how i want it.  I also created the giant bellow that feeds air into the crucible.  I made a few small assets that will be scattered throughout the scene as well.  i put the big things into UDK to make sure my grid modeling was working and it looks like it is! (this is just basic lighting, not anywhere close to final). I also decided on a closer camera angle focusing on the workbench and crucible/bellow.

Senior Project Sprint 1

These are reference photos that i will be building my new project based on.  It is going to be a refurbished medieval blacksmith shop.  It will have some tools (such as the anvil and swage block) that are from a more recent time period, the rest will be old tools from the middle ages.  The fireplace (called a crucible) will be the center piece of the scene and cast lighting from the embers.
